LION CUBS SECURE SILVER IN PAIRS

A SIX-RIDE maximum from Ellis Perks inspired Leicester Lion Cubs to a silver medal in the National League Pairs at Sheffield.

The 22-year-old proved unstoppable at Owlerton, comfortably seeing off his rivals on each occasion.
Roger Webster Lion Cubs skipper Danyon Hume naturally played his part in earning a rostrum place too on a positive night overall.
Maximum man Perks said: “It’s a bit bittersweet because we didn’t come here to get second.
“I had a great night myself but unfortunately it’s a Pairs event and Kent were the better pair on the night so congratulations to them.
“It’s still a pretty positive result though and now time to focus on the league and the cup.”
The Lion Cubs are tied on points with Kent at the top of the current National League standings - and the two sides meet at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena in a mouthwatering clash on Saturday (7.30).
